GEORGE SCHELL TROPHY.
Successful Charity Darts night at the Cambrian Inn George Schell Trophy 2020 On Friday 10 January, the darts doubles competition for the George Schell Trophy, originally presented by the Fishguard Bay Hotel some thirty years ago, was held at the Cambian Inn. There was an excellent turnout on the night, with 20 pairs toeing the oche. Two father & son teams saw Llyr and Kev Francis (Tufton Arms) narrowly beat Keiran and Simon King (Coach House B). Last year’s runners-up Lukey and Matthew (Castle, Newport) were knocked out by the eventual winners of the competition Arwel Thomas & Rhys McLoughlin (Freemasons, Dinas). The semis saw yet another father & son combo Blaine and Gerald John (Shamrock B) beat joint favourites Steve Jauch and Tom Glover (Jubilee A, Letterston), while Kev John + Nigel Barnett (Rugby Club B) narrowly lost a high-scoring semi against Arwel + Rhys, who then won 3:1 against local heroes Richard Morse + Pete James (Cambrian A) to become worthy George Schell champions 2020! All admission and raffle money will be donated to a local charity. Good darts on the night: Pete James 180, Richard Morse 130 out
